Libby Welch and Cynthia Kauffman have been students of the BCYMCA StageStar program since August of ‘07.  It is their enthusiasm and dedication that helped StageStars grow to the program it is today.   Not only are Libby and Cynthia dedicated students, they are also outstanding performers.   Each brings humor, sparkle, and song to the stage.

Both Libby and Cynthia started with StageStars in the first grade and have played characters in scenes from Annie, Parent Trap, Little Mermaid, and many more.  They have participated in several of the Triple Talent Treat, Pop Hop, and Improv Showcases.   Cynthia was cast as Janet in Interplanet Janet in “Now That’s Funny!” Studying with StageStars has also helped them land professional roles such as singing and dancing for the High God videos.  Both young ladies have become accomplished singers, actors, and improvisers with a great help from their classes at the Y.

Cynthia and Libby’s parents value the program very much.  Kim Kauffman, Cynthia’s mom stated, “I cannot say enough about the theatre and dance classes Emily Wolfgang runs through the BCYMCA. She brings outstanding & original musical theatre shows, upbeat choreography & music, and improvisational games & talent to every session she does. She is energetic and passionate about her programs, and is phenomenal with the kids. Cynthia doesn't want to miss a class. It truly is the high point of her week!”

Kristine, Libby’s mom added, "Knowing Libby had a bend in the theatrical arena and wanted to try her hand at acting, we were lucky enough to find Emily on our first try. There are many classes for children interested in theatre to choose from. We have found in Emily a truly talented performer who is able to bring her gift and passion to the children while respecting their own unique talents."

Thanks to Libby and Cynthia and to all of the wonderful young talent you can see at the Showcases put on by the StageStars each session!
