Youth Enrichment-Before and After School Programs
The YMCA is the largest provider of school age programs in Indianapolis and surrounding communities. We respond to the needs of the community by providing parents a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for their children.

The YMCA's national character building campaign pledges to incorporate the values of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect as part of all youth services programming. The YMCA seeks to support and strengthen the family unit, help children develop to their fullest potential and present programs and services in a positive YMCA environment of safety, support, and care.

Kindergarten Plus
Our Kindergarten Plus program is designed to meet the needs of families who struggle with finding quality childcare for their Kindergartener. K+ is offered in both the morning and afternoon for children who attend kindergarten during the other half of the school day. Our trained, professional and caring YMCA staff implements developmentally appropriate learning experiences that reinforce and enhance those skills taught in kindergarten.

Generation Y Programs
The YMCA provides care for older youth attending several of our local Intermediate and Middle Schools. "Generation Y" incorporates a "club" curriculum and expands the traditional principles of the YMCA School-Age Program to meet the unique needs of middle school aged youth during the "critical hours" from the time school ends until 6 PM The curriculum components of the Generation Y program are clubs (cooking, dance, chess, travel, etc.), homework time, service learning, development of life skills, character development, special event planning, leadership development, arts and humanities, and health and wellness.
